Over the course of nine years, their innovative spirit led them to repurpose the building, initially serving as temporary office quarters, a hub for political campaign endeavors, and a versatile space for various events.
Intrigued by a fervent aspiration to revitalize the vibrant northwest precinct of Fort Lauderdale, the city's Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) approached the visionary Smiths. Recognizing the potential to infuse new life into the area, they engaged in profound introspection and sought guidance through prayer. Ultimately, with a shared vision between the Smiths and the city's CRA, the foundation was laid for Smitty's, an exceptional dining establishment that would transcend mere culinary offerings.
This remarkable collaboration marked the genesis of Smitty's, a gastronomic haven that now stands as a testament to their dedication. Breaking ground on May 28, 2019, the Smiths and the city's CRA embarked on a joint endeavor to create more than just a restaurant. Smitty's emerged as a hub of culinary excellence and social engagement, redefining the dining scene on that side of Fort Lauderdale. Here, patrons are welcomed to indulge in the most exquisite wings and libations, elevating the entire dining experience to unprecedented heights.
